If we didn’t pollute our rivers and lakes, they would be full of fish.
you tell what will we speak about? What is our topic for today? Do you know what these sentences are?
Of course, you are right. Today we’ll speak about environmental protection and conditional sentences.
But at first let’s review our words.

Let’s return to our sentences.

In Conditional II the action is… .The action belongs to the… or the…
In Conditional III the action is… .The action belongs to the… or the…
Key: Unlikely, present, future, unreal, past.
Read the sentences and insert: “+”, “-“, “?”, “!”.
” +” (I have already known)
“-“(I thought another way)
“?”(I have some questions)
“!”(It’s new for me)
Conditional sentences are used when we speak about unreal actions that would take place under certain conditions.
Conditional has two tenses: the present and the past.
Conditional II is formed by auxiliary Would and Infinitive.
Conditional III is formed by auxiliary Would and Present perfect.
Conditional II expresses an action which would take place under certain conditions in the present or future.
Conditional III expresses an action which would have taken place under certain conditions in the past.
If you have some questions on this material we try to answer on them by doing ex. 21 p. 45
Translate the sentences and say which you agree or disagree with.
Try to make a table how we form Conditional II and III.
If…the past simple (were)…, …would + infinitive….
If…the past perfect…, …would + the present perfect….
Say what Conditional II or III these sentences belong to.
You may use next phrases:
I disagree with…
As for me, I think…
I don’t think so.
I have another opinion…
I absolutely agree with…
Listen the poem ex.23 p.46 and find Conditional sentences:
If all the sea were one sea,
What a great sea that would be!
If all the trees were one tree,
What e great tree that would be!
And if all the axes were one axe,
What a great axe that would be!
And if all the men were one man,
What a great man that would be!
And if the great man took the great axe,
And cut down the great tree,
And let it fall into the great sea,
What a splish-splash that would be!
